Please see the information below from Walsall college

We have put together new provisions to support adults in the community, as well as 16 – 18 year olds who are currently NEET (not in education, employment or training), that could potentially help during and after lockdown. Please see more information on these provisions attached, including our adult prospectus and career launching courses, and copied below.

Would you possibly be able to circulate this information for us via your usual channels?

Google Classrooms Online Support

This new course has been prepared specifically for parents to help their children to use Google Classrooms whilst at home during lockdown. It will be a single two-hour session which will be delivered via Zoom and will be free during lockdown for those who are interested.

There will also be a course on how to use Zoom, so if you would like to update your skills, you can enrol on the Zoom course first. If you are interested in this course please click the following link https://www.walsallcollege.ac.uk/short-course-enrolment and follow the instructions.

Short Online Courses for Adults

These courses are available online and include taster sessions on topics such as Digital Skills and Recreational Activities where learners could then progress onto the Beginners stage of the course. These short courses are free during lockdown for those who are interested.

Additional over the phone support will be available for anyone who may be interested but are not confident with using computers. If you are interested in these courses please click the following link https://www.walsallcollege.ac.uk/short-course-enrolment and follow the instructions.

Career Launching Courses

We have a number of courses to help you start your career in a new environment. These courses will help you increase your chances of gaining employment through industry-specific treatment in areas such as Working in Schools, Health & Social Care, Hospitality, Retail, Construction and much more.

NEETS Support for 16 – 18 Year Olds

Please see the attachment for more information on our impartial project to support 16-18 year olds who are currently not in education, employment or training. The attachment explains more about the NEETS project as a whole, including our connection with other colleges and training providers to support this age group. If you know of anyone in this age group who would like our support, they are more than welcome to get in touch.

Distance Learning Courses

Walsall College currently offer a wide range of FREE Level 2 Distance Learning courses that can be studied at home around your own schedule. All of our Distance Learning courses are short courses and individuals can study as many as they would like, however you can only study one course at a time. You must be 19 years of age or over and be a resident in England to be eligible for these courses.
